As an excellent embedded vehicle computer, the PCS-8311P provides four 10/100/1000 Mbit/s LAN ports with integrated power supply via Power-over-Ethernet (PoE). In addition to the Ethernet interface, each port thus delivers a voltage source with a maximum of 48 V DC and 15.4 W power for feeding connected IP devices. This makes the PCS-8311P suitable for cable-poor operation of different peripherals from wireless access points through IT infrastructure such as switches and routers to IP cameras and other embedded computers with PoE inputs. In addition, the PCS-8311P can address independent displays with or without a touch screen for information, controlling and monitoring tasks parallelly via all three graphics outputs.
With features such as Smart Power Management, a variable input voltage between 9 VDC and 36 VDC, Ignition Detection and Programmable Start Delay, the PCS-8311P is designed specifically for use as an embedded PC in vehicles. Individual customizing supports the PCS-8311P with optional enhancements such as an emergency power supply for about ten minutes via Li-ion batteries or CAN 2.0B bus. The PCS-8311P with its high-performance CPU of the Core-i series is recommended not only for tasks such as fleet management and vehicle telematics but also for computer-aided applications such as mobile data acquisition and processing of high-resolution video data for monitoring tasks or their documentation. Due to the integrated RAID controller and two vibration-protected drive bays, the received data can be easily stored for easy access from the outside for later use.
