The SLP-SKG is a powerful and flexibly expandable fanless Embedded PC via extension cards. The native interfaces of the basic configuration include GPIO, four digital USB 3.0 and four serial COM ports in RS232 (optionally also equipable with two RS232 and RS232/422/485 interfaces) and can be individually extended by PCI Express and PCI Interfaces according to its operation field. All external extention interfaces are accessible via screw-secured removable panels on the back.
For its extremely high performance, the machine is supplied via Intel Core i3/i5/i7 socket of the 6th and 7th generation Skylake (eg. Intel Core i5-6500TE Quad Core CPU with a clock frequency of up to 3.30 GHz or further quad core configurations with up to 4 GHz) for the solution of complex computing operations in real time. The basic configuration of the SLP-SKG is equipped with 4 GB 2133 MHz DDR4 RAM, an extension to up to 32 GB of RAM for intensive computing applications is possible.

As usual for system-critical embedded platforms, this series also uses Gigabit Dual LAN over Tx Base 100 RJ45 with a bandwidth of 10/100/1000 Mbps and full duplex for bidirectional communication. Thus, integration into different IT structures including hierarchical, ring-shaped or redundant topologies is easily possible. The creation of a homogenous IT infrastructure facilitates a complete compatibility with different 64-bit operating systems including Microsoft Windows 10 and Linux OS (min. kernel 4.4).
The application fields of the SLP-SKG include industrial, scientific or commercial automation of industrial processes or buildings including technical protocols or IoT applications for efficient M2M or H2M process management in industry, engineering, plant control or research procedures. With support for multiple legacy extension slots and high performance, a specialised recommendable field is server consolidation through hardware upgrades and virtualization of legacy IT systems as part of optimization of performance and efficiency.
