Axiomtek has presented an industrial player designed for use in the field of video advertising in public places (Digital Signage).
The new DSP501-527 combines an impressive performance with a low power consumption and heat dissipation (TDP) of 15W. Featuring modern 8th Gen Intel processors, DSP501-527 has a passive cooling system.
Axiomtek’s DSP501-527 is built on Intel SoC chipset and supports Intel Whiskey Lake Core i5-8265U (4 cores, 8 threads, 1.6-3.9 GHz), i3-8145U (2 cores, 4 threads, 2.1-3.9 GHz), Celeron 4205U (2 cores, 2 Streams, 1.8 GHz) with integrated Intel 600 Series UHD graphics for the most demanding computing tasks and is capable of maximum video stream processing and displaying 4K images on two screens simultaneously.
DSP501-527 specifications, expansion slots, I/O ports:
DSP501-527 players support up to 32GB DDR4 RAM and have three M.2 connectors: 1x 2280 Key M with NVMe support, 1x 2230 Key E for Wi-Fi/BT, 1x 3042 Key B for 4G/LTE/VPU; one DisplayPort ++ and HDMI 2.0 port for 4K displays, one RJ-45 LAN port for Ethernet connection, one RJ-45 port for device control, five USB-A ports, one DB9 RS232 COM port, four antenna holes, audio-out, mic-in, SIM card slot, 12VDC-in power connector with thread locker, 2-pin connector for a remote power button. DSP501-527 supports Windows 10 and Linux operating systems. The operating temperature range is from 0 to +50oC.
Dimensions: 200mm (W) x 160mm (D) x 26mm (H).
Considering the rapid development of artificial intelligence (AI) and the growing demand for real-time face recognition, it should be noted that Axiomtek’s new DSP501-527 supports the Intel Movidius Myriad X VPU machine vision processor and Intel OpenVINO developer toolkit. Also, DSP501-527 supports two 4K displays by DisplayPort ++ and HDMI 2.0 ports, allowing usage of up to two 4K displays simultaneously. With its fanless cooling system and compact size, this Digital Signage player is well suited for digital menu boards, digital catalogs, self-service kiosks, video walls and mid-traffic face recognition systems.
